SIX STEPS TO LEARN AND MASTER GRAMMER



Step 1: Parts of speech

The first step towards learning grammar is to understand the parts of speech.

1. Noun: Word used to name person, place, things, ideas

2. Pronouns: Word used instead of Nouns

3. Verbs: Word used for some action, feelings or existence

4. Adverbs: Adds something to meaning of a verb, an adjective or another verb

5. Adjectives: Word used to add something to the meaning of Noun/Pronoun

6. Prepositions: Word used with noun/pronoun to show relation to other words in the sentence.

7. Conjunctions: Word used to join words, phrases, clauses or sentences

8. Interjections: Words that convey sudden or strong emotions

Step 2: Sentences: Group of words that make sense or expresses one complete thought.

Step 3: Phrase - Group of words that make sense, but not complete sense.

Step 4: Clause - Group of words that are part of sentence, and contain a Subject and a Predicate.

Step 5: Sentence Diagrams - A visual tool to learn and retain grammer knowledge.
